Old man piggybacking Sinbad used to listen to Sinbad with empathy. He will feel sorry for his sufferings.. Also he will admit the fact that Sinbad has to pass through the difficult terrains for several days without food and water and without adequate rest... But the Old man will never offer to climb down and give some respite!
Women's reservation Bill had the support of many parties and appeared to get cleared in the Rajya Sabha on the 8th march, the world women's day. With major opposition parties and allies supporting, it appeared that India was going to witness the momentuous occasion of affirmative action for half of the population to mark the 100th anniversery of world women's day.
But alas! Sympathisers abound; the floor managers have floored the Bill on women's day! But, managed to pass it in upper house the next day.
Like sinbad's travails, still the bill is to be carried through a long and tortous route before it can be brought in force.
No wonder the Bill is called women's reservation Bill; that everybody has some 'reservation' to support it!
