"A Mother’s Counsel to Her Daughter, India"
O daughter of mine, with a soul so vast,Your story is written in struggles past.
Yet let me remind you, as you stand tall,
Of the hands that built you, and those that let you fall.
From diverse faiths, brave hearts arose,
To break the shackles and challenge foes.
Azad spoke of unity, in word and deed,
Ghaffar Khan sowed peace, a noble creed.
Ambedkar dreamed of a nation of rights,
Where caste and creed would lose their fights.
Rani Gaidinliu stood firm, her spirit aflame,
And Begum Rokeya uplifted women’s name.
But not all chose this righteous road,
Some sought comfort in a colonial code.
Rulers and Diwans, with titles in hand,
Bowed to the empire, betrayed their land.
Raghunath’s deals, Sapru’s peace,
Showed how ambition can make courage cease.
Zamindars thrived on their people’s pain,
While patriots toiled for freedom’s gain.
So, listen, my child, to this truth I sing,
No faith or title can make a king.
It’s the deeds of a soul, the love it can show,
That make a nation’s spirit grow.
